The ATH-AWX7000 represents the pinnacle of Audio-Technica wooden headphone craftsmanship, pairing the latest acoustic technology with traditional Japanese artistry.

The headphone housings are fashioned from prized Kiso cypress, used historically to construct Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, and hand-finished with traditional Echizen lacquer to bring out the natural color and beauty of the wood’s grain. Machined aluminum sliders are affixed to a lightweight magnesium frame to ensure precise size adjustments, and all the trim pieces—frame, arms, and sliders—are finished in the deep navy hue of kachi-iro, the lucky color of the samurai.
